CSGO500 is now 500 Casino: what changed

CSGO500 and 500 Casino are the same site. It opened in 2016 as a Counter-Strike skins raffle and Wheel of Fortune site, renamed itself 500 Casino in 2021, and still answers on csgo500.com as one of ten official addresses. Here is what changed, what carried over and why there is no app.

Is CSGO500 the same as 500 Casino?

Yes. CSGO500 is the original name of the site now called 500 Casino, and the old and new names belong to the same business. 500 Casino's terms describe CSGO500 and 500PLAY as brand names of "the 500 project", and its disclaimer defines 500, 500PLAY and CSGO500 as brands of Perfect Storm B.V., a Curaçao company registered in Willemstad (number 150536). Payments and operational support are handled by Nine Yards Limited in Limassol, Cyprus.

If you had a CSGO500 account, it is the account you use on 500 Casino today. csgo500.com was never shut down: it is one of the ten addresses on 500 Casino's own list of official aliases, alongside 500.casino, 500play.com and csgo500.io. The list at the top of this page checks each of them from your browser.

2016: a Counter-Strike skins site

The Wayback Machine's first capture of csgo500.com is dated 10 March 2016, under the title "CSGO 500 - High Tier Raffles". The site let players stake Counter-Strike: Global Offensive skins, the cosmetic weapon finishes traded on Steam, in raffles and soon in its signature game, the Wheel of Fortune. Later archived titles read "CSGO500 - CSGO Skins Gambling" and, as late as 1 January 2021, "CSGO500 - Wheel of Fortune". 500 Casino's own homepage copy still calls it a pioneer of the CS:GO skin gambling scene, established in 2016, and the loading screen carries "EST 2016".

That makes it one of the older names in the space, older than many of the crypto casinos it now competes with.

July 2016: Valve's cease-and-desist

On 20 July 2016, Valve sent cease-and-desist notices to 23 skin gambling sites, telling them to stop using Steam accounts for commercial purposes under the Steam Subscriber Agreement. CSGO500 was one of the sites named. Where several rivals closed, CSGO500 signalled "big changes" and carried on.

It is worth being precise about what happened next. The US lawsuits over skin gambling that year, such as McLeod v. Valve, named other sites and were later dismissed; CSGO500 was not tied to them. The lasting effect of 2016 was that skin sites had to change how they used Steam. In the years that followed, CSGO500 added crypto and today handles skins through a player-to-player marketplace.

2021: the rename to 500 Casino

500.casino was first archived on 3 August 2021, and by 3 January 2022 csgo500.com carried the title "500 Casino - #1 CSGO & Crypto Gambling Site". We found no dated announcement, so the fair summary is that the rebrand happened in 2021.

The new name reflected what the site had become: a crypto casino with thousands of slots, live tables and a sportsbook, still accepting skins but no longer only about them. The current title reads "500 Casino - #1 CS2 & Crypto Gambling Site", updated for Counter-Strike 2. The domain history guide follows the addresses from csgo500.com to today's list.

What carried over and what is new

Carried over

  • Your account and Steam sign-in. Steam login still works alongside other methods.
  • Skins. CS2 skins, and Rust items, can be deposited and withdrawn through the P2P marketplace. The skins guide explains the current rules.
  • Wheel of Fortune and Roulette. The two classic games are still at the centre of the site, now with their own jackpots, alongside Crash.
  • csgo500.com and csgo500.io. Both remain official addresses, and the site's content host still runs on the csgo500.io name.

New since the rename

  • Crypto deposits in around 16 coins as listed by reviews, and card, wallet and regional payment methods depending on country.
  • Thousands of slots and Evolution live tables.
  • A sportsbook with football, tennis and esports such as CS2 and Dota 2.
  • A VIP ladder of 12 named tiers from Silver to Supernova, with instant rakeback.
  • A newer licence wording: the homepage now cites a Curaçao licence numbered OGL/2024/1354/0882, as shown on the site.

Is there a CSGO500 or 500 Casino app?

No. 500 Casino has no app in the App Store or Google Play, and its site offers no installable web app: there is no web manifest or service worker, and reviewers describe it as browser only. On a phone you simply open one of the official addresses in the browser and, if you like, bookmark it. The not-loading guide covers what to do when the mobile site will not open.

Old bookmarks and regional addresses

An old csgo500.com bookmark should still work, because the address is on the official list. The list also includes regional names for Russia, Turkey and Poland, such as csgo500ru.com, csgo500tr.com and csgo500pl.com and their 500play equivalents. Those exist because the terms say selected mirrors and main domains are not available in Belgium, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia and Turkey; they are not a way around a ban, and players must follow local law and 500 Casino's terms. If a name is not on the official alias list, treat it as unofficial. Our verified domains page lists all ten and how we check them.

Same site, same rules

The rename did not change who you deal with or the rules you agree to. The same terms apply on every address, including the region restrictions, the KYC rules and the withdrawal conditions. Sweden's gambling regulator banned Perfect Storm in November 2023 for offering 500 Casino, then using csgo500.com, to Swedish players without a licence; that history belongs to the same operator. Our 500 Casino review weighs all of it.

Keep control, whatever the name

Skins can feel like play money, but they carry real value. Set a budget in money terms, not in items. 500 Casino offers one-click self-exclusion in account settings, which support will not lift early, and limits or forced breaks on request. See our responsible gambling page.
